The experiences we create often come from something we once went searching for ourselves.
Hi! I’m Mireie, founder of SUP FIT YOGA, and I’d love to share a bit about how this Paddleboarding (SUP) and Yoga retreat in Gran Canaria came to life—and why it’s different.
For over a decade, I worked in the tourism industry, making sure every detail was perfect for people visiting the island. But the further I went in my career, the stronger I felt a need for something deeper. That’s when I began to travel differently.
I discovered that adventure, nature, and movement were my way of hitting reset. I walked across glaciers, climbed mountains, paddled between icebergs… and on every trip, I found myself again.
Until I realized that everything I had been searching for in those faraway adventures… was already here, at home, in Gran Canaria.
A place with the perfect climate to paddle barefoot all year round. A place where you can practice yoga outdoors, combine both disciplines on the water, explore the island beyond the typical tourist routes, and reconnect with nature—and in doing so, reconnect with yourself
But I also noticed something else:
– More and more retreats were focused on material luxury, leaving out so many people who were truly looking for a meaningful experience.
– On the other hand, there were budget options that lacked soul and depth—offering no real balance between adventure, well-being, and rest.
That’s why I decided to create something different.

Day one begins with a special welcome. We meet on the beach, leave behind the noise of daily life, and gently land in the present moment.
– First Paddle Experience: After a short intro, we paddle out to sea, feeling the lightness of floating on the water. The mind quiets, the body adjusts, and suddenly… everything feels easier.
– Sunset SUP Yoga: As the sun dips below the horizon, our board becomes a floating mat. Gentle movements, conscious breathing, the rhythm of the sea… the connection with nature becomes complete.
– Evening Wind-Down: We end the day with a floating relaxation, letting the ocean rock us as the sky changes colors. Calmness wraps around us.
Sunrise gently wakes us with yoga on the sand. We start the day awakening the body with soft stretches, breathing in the fresh morning air as the energy of a new day begins to flow.
– SUP Class or Tour: We head out onto the water for a paddle boarding session. We learn how to paddle, find balance with each gentle wave, and enjoy the freedom of being out at sea.
– Rest & Meal Time: A well-deserved break to recharge, relax, and share stories with the group.
– Afternoon Hike: We explore the island from a new perspective—connecting with its landscapes, trails, and natural viewpoints. Each step is a reminder that this journey is as much inward as it is outward.
Today, we leave the board and mat behind to step into the heart of Gran Canaria.
– We explore charming historic towns, local markets, and hidden corners full of authenticity.
– Traditional Canarian Lunch: Local flavors, home-cooked dishes, and a slow moment to simply enjoy.
Because traveling isn’t just about moving—it’s about truly connecting with the soul of a place and its roots.
Today, the body takes the lead with a SUP Fitness session.
We focus on strength, balance, and stability—right on the board.
– Water-Based Exercises → Plenty of laughs guaranteed, and your muscles will be working without you even noticing
– SUP Yoga → We wind down with a mindful practice to bring in calmness after the movement.
Because finding physical balance reminds us of our inner balance too.
The last day—but not the end of the experience.
– SUP Tour Along the Coast: We paddle through crystal-clear waters, discovering hidden spots and soaking in the ocean at its best.
– Beach Yoga: We close this journey just as we began it—by reconnecting with our body, our breath, and everything around us.
– Retreat Closing: We say goodbye with full hearts and renewed energy, taking home more than memories—a deep sense of peace, connection, and wholeness.

You’ll stay in comfortable, fully equipped apartments with private rooms or shared only with one other person. It’s not a hostel, but it’s also not a luxury hotel—striking the perfect balance between comfort and affordability.
You’ll receive tips on public transport and transfer options so you can choose whatever works best for you.

Gran Canaria has stable weather almost all year round, but if something unexpected comes up, we’ll adjust the activities or find great alternatives—so you can keep enjoying every moment to the fullest.
The deposit is non-refundable. However, if the cancellation is made at least 30 days in advance, the deposit amount can be transferred to another available retreat date or transferred to another person attending in your place.
Comfortable clothes for activities, a swimsuit, sunscreen, flip-flops, and if you have one, your own yoga mat. For hiking, bring proper footwear. We’ll provide all the paddle boarding equipment.
You don’t need to be an athlete or have any prior experience, but it’s helpful to have a basic level of mobility and be used to moving—like walking, swimming, or doing some occasional physical activity. All activities are adapted to different levels, but we want you to enjoy it comfortably and with ease.
